5 OF THE BEST SUMMERTIME KICKS
One of the best things about summer (apart from the weather) is that you can use the difference in climate as a legitimate excuse for brand-new kicks. Those trusty winter boots are great for festival season of course, but it’s always good to have season-appropriate footwear on rotation. Before you make your choice, take a look at the five styles we’re most hype about this month from sneaker titans Nike and Adidas.

adidas Running Ultra Boost 19

First off we've got one for all your pavement pounders with the 2019 version of adidas’ Ultra Boost model. The kicks are lightweight, super-breathable and feature adi’s Boost cushioning throughout for cloud-like comfort — ideal for walking and running. Alternatively, with a look as slick as this, we certainly won’t blame your for sneaking these into your casual rotation. And anyway, if anyone asks, it’s athleisure, OK?

Nike Zoom 2k

You can’t deny the power of all-white sneakers. The freshest of the fresh, they go with everything and never go out of style (although you’ll want to swerve wearing these to any festivals for sure). If you’re fully on the chunky hype, you can’t go wrong with Nike’s Zoom 2K kicks. As noted, you can wear these with anything, but they'll look particularly good with suits, so bear that in mind for any summer weddings you've got coming up. Alongside '90s nostalgic feels, the kicks come complete with Zoom cushioning that will literally put a spring in your step.

Nike React Element 55

A lifestyle sneaker that looks like a running shoe, these ones are inspired by archive football boots. Yes, it's the Nike React Element 55. Channeling a distinctly futuristic vibe with the overblown outsole and sleek upper, these are best paired with some black track pants and a black graphic tee to match the neon highlights. Consider your summer 2019 look locked down.

Nike Vapormax

Nike’s Vapormax range wouldn’t look out of place on the set of a chrome-finished sci-fi film. Not only are these kicks heavy on the 3019 vibes, the brand's famous Air technology gets an update in the form of the techy pods on the sole for full-length comfort. That means squishy comfort from heel to toe. For a matching look, find a tee in the same gray hue and team with some black chinos or pants to match the iconic branding.

Another throwback update, but this time from the 1980s. The adidas Nite Jogger pays homage to the original '80s model by sticking with the reflective heel tab and 3-Stripes. That’s pretty much where the old-skool inspo ends though; the most recent model features a reworked upper and adidas’ Boost cushioning. With reflective deets and a street-ready shape, these can be paired with some cuffed cargo pants, a slouchy printed tee and a cross-body bag for the full urbanized look.
